This modest uptown eatery is a true family affair putting grandaughters and son-in-laws to work in both the front and back of the restaurant. While your first impression may be that this is a little hole in the wall, it is actually quite big on character. Serving soul food for your mental comfort makes it even larger than life where cuisine is concerned. Menu features include Okra with Shrimp, Greens with Turkey Necks, Candied Yams, Peas, and Cornbread and Biscuits. There is also a great Fried Catfish and Gumbo with a side of Potato Salad. Breakfast offers Smoked Sausage, Pancakes and Fried Liver or Porkchops with Grits. There is no need for reservations as they boast 100 seats upstairs, plus another 100 downstairs.
