Avenida Prefeito Mendes de Moraes 222 Cuisines: Spanish

About

Tapas has not traditionally been a fixture on Rio's culinary scene, but the city is now making up for lost tapas time, with 2010 and 2011 seeing the opening of a string of bar-restaurants specializing in the Spanish snacks. Ene, in the upscale neighborhod of Sao Conrado, was one of the first to open, and prides itself on serving quality dishes in sophisticated surrounds. A world removed from the simple Spanish tavernas where tapas first became popular, this is a chic spot for a sit-down dinner with wine.
