Etniko is one of Santiago's hippest restaurants, serving Asian-influenced cuisine in a trendy and sophisticated space frequented by Santiago's stylish young adults and expats. Soberly attired waiters will guide you through the menu's eclectic selection, but the regulars laud over the 40 varieties of sushi (don't miss the Easter Island tuna). Also on offer are Japanese tempura and Chinese and Vietnamese stir-fries. The best part of Etniko is its stunning open-air atrium seating area, and it also features one of the liveliest bars in town. As the evening accelerates, the dining room pulsates to the modern beat of house music played by talented resident DJs. The front door is always shut (not to be taken as a sign of pretentious exclusivity), so ring the bell to enter, and don't expect the place to fill until 9 or 10pm.
