Féile Chomórtha Joe Éinniú / The Joe Heaney Commemorative Festival is a festival of traditional singing, music and dance commemorating the legendary sean nós singer Joe Heaney, a native of Carna who died in Seattle in 1984.An annual event since 1986, this festival aims to showcase the rich traditional heritage of Carna in the arts of sean nós singing, instrumental music and dance; and to share and interact with visiting performers and interested followers. The weekend programme includes sean nós and traditional singing in English, a traditional concert, workshops and master classes in sean nós singing and dancing, lectures and talks, CD and book launches, a children's' singing competition, and both formal and informal recitals and sessions.
