Valanoor is the backwater, with plenty of fish fauna including Golden Masheer, Maral and Mapp. It draws fishing lovers from all over India and abroad and it is one of the most beautiful angling sites in Karnataka. One can try and catch the famous Mahseer or Tiger of the Indian rivers, one of the prime freshwater game fish and one of the most willful fighting fish in the world.
