Fjöruborðið

Eyrarbraut 3a Cuisines: Seafood

About

Many Reykjavíkians trek all the way to this famed lobster house just for dinner. Beef, lamb, fish, and vegetarian dishes are on hand, but most guests end their meal slurping their garlic- and butter-drenched fingers over a huge pile of exoskeletons. An Icelandic lobster, more accurately termed a langoustine, is hardly larger than a jumbo shrimp, and extracting the meat doesn't require the usual heroics with tiny forks or shell-cracking implements.
