Goan Caves

Goan Caves , India

About

Goan caves are from the 16th Century locally known as Pandava caves. They have long been thought to be of Buddhist origin, with the lingas installed in the four shrines after the decline of Buddhism but this is not altogether certain and they may have been Brahminical from the start. They are excavated into the laterite hill consisting of two major caves and a residential chamber.
