Golden Strand can be found approximately 3km east of Dugort Village on Achill Island. It is also known as Barnyagappul Strand, meaning ‘gap of the horses’. The beach is popular with surfers, swimmers and walkers and also holds a variety of native plants and wildlife. The beach is lifeguarded during the bathing season and more information can be found on the notice boards located at the beach.
