The Guinness Storehouse is located in the heart of the St James's Gate Brewery in Dublin, which has been home to the 'black stuff' since 1759. The seven storey building, a former Guinness fermentation plant, has been remodelled into the shape of a giant pint of Guinness.A visit will teach you everything you ever wanted to know about this world famous beer, from how Guinness is made, to the ancient craft of Guinness barrel making in the cooperage and on to the creation of the world famous brand. The highlight for many visitors is the Gravity Bar, where they collect their end of tour pint of Guinness and can relax and enjoy the 360 degree views across Dublin City.Guinness Storehouse is well serviced by buses from the city centre. Bus 51B from Aston Quay runs every fifteen minutes, journey time is ten minutes. Bus 78A from Aston Quay runs every eight to ten minutes. Journey time is ten minutes. Bus 123 from O'Connell Street runs every eight to ten minutes. Journey time is ten minutes. Bus 90 runs from Connolly Station to Heuston Station. On a fine day the best way to get to the storehouse from the city centre is on foot. From Dame Street (outside Trinity College), keep straight ahead. Follow road around passing Christchurch on the right, leading onto Thomas Street. At Crane Street turn left and at the end of the road turn right onto Market Street.By tram, Luas stop is on James's Street. Once on James's Street turn right and continue walking down James's Street. At the junction with Echlin Street take a right turn. At the top of the road turn left (opposite Old Harbour Pub), take the first left on to Market Street. The pedestrian entrance will be on the left.
