- Carry sufficient cash with you when travelling to Gulmarg. There are very less ATMs and completely depending on them may not be safe. Many of the hotels also do not accept credit or debit cards.
- Skiers and snowboarders who plan to ride in the back country should expect significant avalanche danger and plan accordingly. A non-profit avalanche information center provides daily advisories from avalanche experts.
