Haute Provence

Franschhoek

About

Haute Provence Vineyards, situated in the Franschhoek Valley, derive their name from the French Huguenots, who were settled there in the late 17th century. This is one of South Africa's smaller but best-known wineries, and in terms of quality, certainly one of the top producers in the valley. The estate has won 25 local and international awards in the vintage years 1994-1997. The winery is well known for its 'Angel's Tears', a special sweet-dry blend which has become its best-seller and winner of several awards. The Haute Provence homestead and cellars are pleasantly situated under large oak trees, and the walls of its charming tasting room are covered by paintings by famous South African artists past and present.
