Hôtel des Trésoriers de la Bourse

4 rue des Trésoriers de la Bourse

About

This grandiose residence dates from the 18th Century and at the time was the largest building of its kind in Montpellier. From 1710 to the French revolution it housed the Trésorerie de la Bourse (stock exchange treasury) of Languedoc. The construction of the building was completed in stages between 1631 and 1731. Today a German cultural center, the Maison de Heidelberg named after Montpellier's twin city, occupies part of this majestic residence. Situated in the historic center you can conveniently stroll on among the shops and historic architecture of the narrow lanes.
