About

Humbug Scrub Wildlife Sanctuary was created by Thomas P Bellchambers in 1905.Tom lived on the Sanctuary with his wife Eliza and their ten children. The cottage in which they lived has been restored as a museum at the Sanctuary, depicting natural history of the Scrub and over 130 years of family history. More than a century later , Humbug Scrub Wildlife Sanctuary remains a Sanctuary for not only the native animals which roam freely around the scrub, but also for rescued animals from the local area. The Sanctuary is open daily for visitors to enjoy the legacy that Tom Bellchambers has left behind.
