This is the only festival dedicated to the medium of travel in Ireland. By bringing a host of top international and national authors, the festival is giving both the presenters and participants a unique opportunity for interaction and exposure to this genre, while also catering for the mainstream literary area. The festival offers the community/audience the opportunity to participate in 4 days of total immersion in the arts through exhibitions, readings, lectures, workshops and street theatre. Each year the programme works around a theme focussing on an aspect of travel writing. Authors and presenters explore this theme based upon their own works and experiences. The open mic session provides a platform for new and emerging Irish poets, workshops are designed to encourage participants to pursue creative writing.
