About

Inis Meáin is one of the Aran Islands strewn across Galway Bay, 24km off the west coast of Ireland. The Inis Meain Restaurant and Suites are located on this, the quietest of the three Aran Islands.Inis Meain Restaurant and Suites aims to enhance visitors appreciation of the island by providing a style of accommodation and dining that is complimentary to the location. Ruairí de Blacam is a chef and a native of Inis Meáin. Ruairí’s wife, Marie-Thérèse, is from Cork and has a business and fashion background. Together they decided to create a restaurant and guest suites on the island that would allow them to live in this special and unique place. For optimum relaxation there are just four exclusive suites and one suite apartment, all of which are best suited to two guests sharing. All of the suites are extremely spacious with their own exterior door, hall, living area, ensuite sleeping area and outside sitting area. Books of interest are provided in place of televisions to complement the tranquillity of the suites. Bicycles and fishing rods with each suite are at the ready to help guests explore and discover the island. The restaurant dining room is contemporary in styling and has panoramic views of the island and bay. The main ingredients used in the restaurant are sourced on the island; such as lobster and crab caught by local fishermen from currachs, the traditional island fishing boats.
