Ipanema

Jongno-gu Cuisines: American

About

What's a South American churrascaria doing in the middle of Seoul I'm not sure, but I wasn't complaining as the waitstaff cooked the meat next to my table (the chef and some of the waiters are from Brazil). Heaven for meat lovers, you'll get chicken drumsticks, sausage, roast beef, lamb, pork, and turkey, already flavored and smoky good. There are other things on the menu, but it's difficult to resist the churrascaria. The salad bar, unfortunately, has a distinctly Korean feel, with soba noodles and an odd corn salad taking the place of Western-style fare. Ipanema has the atmosphere of a beer hall; it's not the place for a romantic dinner -- but no one seems to care as they're too busy being carnivores.
