Ireland Yard

Ireland Yard

About

Ireland Yard is one of the few well known addresses that Shakespeare was associated with. It was the main entrance of the famous Black Friars monastery. It also had the houses of the famous playwright Ben Jonson and painter Van Dyck. It served as a convenient location for Shakespeare as the Blackfriar's playhouse was close by. Though it is just a side street now, the Ireland Yard definitely is worth a visit due to its great historical literary value.
