About

The State Library of Queensland's John Oxley Library has a wide range of content both contemporary and retrospective chronicling events, people, places, and ideas that continue to shape Queensland. Committed to capturing the essence of the Queensland story for current and future generations, this collection is a resource for people wanting to understand Queensland in all its diversity. John Oxley Library consists of unique Queensland resources including diaries, manuscripts, artworks, photographs, original maps and plans, and oral histories. A broad range of books, magazines, newspapers, and ephemera are acquired largely through legal deposit and websites are archived in Pandora. These materials as well as films and digital stories are available for viewing in the John Oxley Library Reading Room or online via State Library's catalogue OneSearch. Part of Queensland's dynamic heritage network, John Oxley Library is a forum for new knowledge and information sharing through the John Oxley Library blog, Queensland Memory Awards, and special research initiatives and residencies, exhibitions, tours, and events.
