Jolly Brewery + Restaurant offers the perfect upscale atmosphere to enjoy a good, well-crafted beer over a nice meal without all the craziness of Taipei's typical bar scene. The sleek interior features the polished copper brewing equipment, even though the beer isn't actually brewed on site. The restaurant has six brews on tap, including a tasty honey ale and a rather interesting Scotch ale made from the same single malts as scotch whiskey. Adventurous drinkers can order a sample flight of all the beers on draught. Come hungry, because the Thai food served up at Jolly is good. While Thai and beer don't seem like a match made in heaven, the spicy flavors of Thailand pair surprisingly well with a nice cold beer. Try the shrimp cakes with plum sauce or lettuce wraps to start and order a few entrees to split amongst your group.
