In 1962, a man named Pierre Lafond opened the first winery in Santa Barbara since Prohibition. And it's still around, too. Santa Barbara Winery is set in downtown Santa Barbara, only two blocks from the beach, and maintains its rich role in the history of wine. If you're truly a wine lover and it's all about the taste, enjoy a private tasting in the barrel room, hosted by a senior staff member. Sample Santa Barbara Winery current releases as you learn about the winemaking process, then head over four blocks to the Pierre Lafond Wine Bistro for a special cheese plate. Reservations and 24-hour notice are required.
