About

Kanjli Wetlands is a man-made wetland, situated in the Kapurthala District of the state of Punjab. The building was made in 1870 by the head works across the perennial River Bien.

The main motive behind making this wetland was to provide irrigation facilities to the hinterland. Kanjli Wetlands exhibits a rich mesophytic, terrestrial and aquatic flora and fauna.

This attraction provides travellers with opportunities for enjoying activities like boating and birdwatching. At present, a project is being undertaken at the spot in order to develop it into a birdwatcher's paradise.
