This reserve is a large area of woodland and grassland by a dam, surrounded on all sides by Durban, in vivid contrast. The Umhlatuzana river is on its eastern border. The park is located just south-west of Durban centre, between Chatsworth and the Bay, and easily reached via the N2 freeway. The reserve has various buck and small game, including zebra, and there are self-guided trails. The Wilderness Leadership School have their headquarters in the park.
