King Kamehameha Suite

Taunusanlage 20

About

Frankfurt fashionistas converge on this sophisticated enclave in a wonderfully preserved neo-classical villa with a sweeping marble staircase. "We're whatever you want us to be," the manager told us. Perhaps he was referring to the multipurpose role of his establishment -- chic lounge, bar, cafe, restaurant, and, yes, even a nightclub. In a historic building across from the opera house, the dining room is on the second floor. Exceptional products are featured with a finely honored technique. The cooking has flair and imagination, including such dishes as braised cheek of veal with morels or else young goat with salsify and polenta. A lot of grill specialties are featured, and the pastas are homemade, including ravioli of wild garlic filled with sautéed mushrooms.
