One of the city's most authentic fish tavernas can be found in the working-class district of Piraeus. Tassos Kollias serves his customers a great selection of fresh fish and seafood that has become a legend among the gourmets of Athens. The food on offer ranges from grilled sea bass (caught that day) to shrimps in a tomato-and-pepper sauce, deep-water oysters and sea urchins. A good wine selection complements the taverna's offerings. Dinner is served on the roof terrace during the summer. Reservations recommended. Open Monday through Saturday for dinner and Sunday for lunch.
