About

Fancy fruit of the vine paired with straightforward and satisfying eats in a casual setting—head to Korkociag, literally meaning "corkscrew". The space is split into two rooms: a larger front section with wall-to-wall shelves packed with wine bottles and a chic curvy wooden bar, and a more intimate dining room in the back with limited seating capacity. It's cozy and stylish, save for the pistachio-green walls and way-too-close portrait photos of Hungarian winemakers whose achievements can be ordered by the glass or bottle. The kitchen, inspired by flavors of the paprika-loving nation as well as other European cuisines, turns out successes such as foie gras crostini and sweet pears prepared in red wine. - Anna J. Kutor
