The Ghataprabha, the Malaprabha, the Bhima, the TungabhaTapi River, Maharashtradra and the Musik are the principal tributaries joining Krishna. Krishna Basin extends over in three states with an area of 258,948 km2, which is nearly 8% of the total geographical area of the country.
