The most impressive Russian orthodox cathedral in Riga, built in late 19th century to promote the Russian orthodox religion in the Baltic provinces of Russia. During the Soviet period after the World War II it was transformed into Planetarium, the crosses were sewn off and returned only after regaining independence in 1991. Now it's again a beautifully decorated cathedral, located right in the heart of Riga, with a big park at it's side where you can go for a stroll after seeing the interior if you are interested.
