La Douceur Patisserie

No. 223 JinHua St. Cuisines: French

About

Patisserie La Douceur just drips with cute. The little pastry shop may lack in space, but its desserts definitely make up for it. The most visually pleasing, colorful and unique offerings are the macaroons. Some are big enough to share with a couple friends, and all come in beautiful colors and interesting flavors, like balsamic vinegar or salted chocolate. Take some macaroons with you, but don't walk out of here without trying the apples and caramel mousse mille-feuille. This signature is made to order with layers of puff pastry, caramel mousse and fresh green apples. In the summer months, Patisserie La Douceur makes a strawberry version as well. The menu is all in Chinese, but most items, with the exception of the mille-feuille, are displayed in a case by the register, so either bring along a Chinese-speaking friend or just point to what looks good.
