Liangjiangsihu, or Two Rivers and Four Lakes (Adding a fifth lake now), is located in the city centre of Guilin. I recommend walking along the four lakes and the Li river that disects the city at night, when the lights illuminate the beautiful landscape and some ancient structures like the Ancient South Gate in a variety of colours. Ronghu is named after a massave rongshu (banyan tree), Shanhu has sun and moon pagodas, Mulonghu has ancient-looking buildings and a cave high up in the mountains, and Guihu, my favourite, is in a quiet corner of the downtown area. They are all connected by canals and crossed by bridges and a romantic stroll is free and a relief from the chaos of the more touristy areas of the city (at night). A motorcycle ride through the city is even more amazing. Enjoy!
