Located two km from the popular hill station of Manali in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, Manali Wildlife Sanctuaryis a nature haven spread over 3,180 hectares.The Manali sanctuary starts behind the town and goes up in the mountains behind the hill station. The sanctuary forms the catchment of Manalsu Khad. Lush green dense forests, pristine glaciers and the sight of colourful birds and animals promises to leave travellers impressed.The vegetation of the sanctuary includes Deodar, fir, horse chestnut, walnut, poplar, robinia, maple and willow trees. The sanctuary is home to musk deer, monal, brown bears and snow leopards. Herds of Ibex migrate to the sanctuary during summer and can be seen while climbing in the glacier zone.
