About

Mannum Dock Museum of River History, on the banks of the Murray River is home to the fully restored Paddle Steamer Marion and presents river history at its best along with information for all visitors to the Murraylands region. Museum displays follow the life of the Murray River from its birth, showcasing fossilised sea creatures; the occupation of the Aboriginal people; boat building; Ngarrindjeri dreaming and the birth of river trade, its growth and the important part it played in our history. A "must see" for families is exploring the exciting new interactive display, "All Steamed Up", where you become a River Boat Captain and steer along the River Murray. Understand the science of steam power. Listen to the sound of the paddle wheel, learn about snags, snakes and river life. See our blacksmith shop in operation on Wednesdays and on PS Marion short cruise days. Alongside the PS Marion and the Museum's main building is the Randell Dry Dock and its fully restored, historic Key Beam Steam Engine. Visit the PS Marion in dock and the many rich river heritage experiences available.
