About

The tiny Lebanese restaurant Marouche opens onto the busy thoroughfare of Cochrane Street and offers great people watching opportunities along with delicious Lebanese fare and flavored sheeshas (hookah pipes). The menu at Marouche offers a wide variety of popular Lebanese starters like Haloumi (grilled goat cheese), Foul Moudamas (boiled chickpeas seasoned with garlic, lemon juice and olive oil), Hummus, Kibbeh Shameyieh (deep fried meatballs), moutabal baba ghanoush and falafels along with mains like Shawarmas (grilled meats sliced wafer thin and wrapped in a pita), Mixed Grills and Shish Taouk (grilled chicken skewers). The hearty appetizers served at Marouche are especially popular with late night revelers who gravitate towards the restaurant after partying, as it stays open until the early hours of the morning. -Anjeeta Nayar
