Masjid e Mamoor

This Masjid along with identical Masjid in Ankappa Naicken Street were built by Arcot Nawab Mohamed Ali Wallajah,(AD 1690-1795) during 17th Century. This was the first Mosque built in Chennai. The entire Mosque were built with Stones and Iron rods, no cement is used. This is the marvelous workmenship of our ancestors. This mosque is also called Walajah Big Masjid (Big Mosque).
