Twice a week, farmers and producers from a large part of the sierra - responsible for supplying the products that people from the capital put on their plates - gather to sell all their products in the popular Feria de la Ofelia. In this popular market you can find a variety of products cultivated in the fertile Ecuadorian soil, such as: root crops, vegetables, a great quantity of fruit and greens, grains, seafood, groceries, domestic animals, farming implements, etc. Because this market is located in the extreme north of the city, the only public transportation lines that come by here are those that go through the Avenida Diego de Vásquez.
