Miaojia Meishi Yuan

About

Located down a set of dark steps in a traditional courtyard setting, this casual Miao restaurant serves some incredibly spicy food. Try, if you dare, the fiery yang lajiao (hot peppers and chilies that have been blanched, sun-dried, and fried), Miaojia anyu (Miao sour fish), or the delicious Miaowei paigu (spicy Miao spareribs). For something more benign, the Miaojia tudou pian (deep-fried potato coins) and rousi chaomian (stir-fry noodles with pork) should be comfortingly familiar.
