Mocambo Bar

Piazza IX Aprile 8

About

Our favorite outdoor bar in Taormina occupies an enviable location on the main square, smack in the center of the evening hubbub. It was established in 1952, during the peak of la dolce vita, when Truman Capote and Tennessee Williams held court at the sidewalk tables. You can opt for a seat on the piazza throughout the year, weather permitting, but during colder months many visitors migrate inside, where there's a satirical mural showing a busy night at the Mocambo. There's live piano music every evening between 9pm and midnight. Open in summer daily 8pm to at least 2am; in winter, Saturday and Sunday 9pm to 12:30am.
