The latest addition to the many dining options in Vesterbro's up-and-coming Kødbyen district, pizzeria Mother opened in late summer 2010. The restaurant's trademark is its sour dough pizzas (hence the name - sour dough is sometimes referred to as the "mother dough") that are apparently easier to digest than regular pizzas, making them perfect for a pre-clubbing meal. The authentic Italian kitchen used a wood-fired oven and also offers anti-pasti as well as warm pasta and meat dishes, all of which can be enjoyed with a glass of wine imported direct from Italy. Pizza prices start at DKK 80.
