Founded in 1796, Musee de Grenoble is one of the country™Ã¯Â¿Â½Ã¯Â¿Â½s oldest art museums and was the first museum outside Paris to focus on modern art. The museum boasts of its impressive collection from Flemish, Italian Renaissance and Impressionist areas. Among the artworks on display are Picasso™Ã¯Â¿Â½Ã¯Â¿Â½s Femme Lisant, Note Matisse™Ã¯Â¿Â½Ã¯Â¿Â½s Interieur aux Aubergines and Leger™Ã¯Â¿Â½Ã¯Â¿Â½s Le Remorqueur. Musee de Grenoble is also home to artifacts from Greek and Roman antiquity, including a well-preserved mosaic.
