The museum is a part of the Institute of the History of Technology of the University of Mining and Metallurgy. The exposition is devoted to the history and present activities of the University, i.e. studies and examinations as well as the history of crafts, mining industry, glass production, concrete production, work in mines, ore smelting in blast-furnaces, steel production, and the ecological problems of Silesia. An exposition of photographs devoted to contacts with the Pope John Paul II is also present.There is a tour guide in the museum.
