About

The museum was established in 1948 to give Thai people the opportunity to study and make use of minerals in a field which had previously been dominated by foreign companies. Geological displays illustrate the evolution of the earth, fossils, rocks and minerals, earthquakes and underground water. The showcase of mineral resources exhibits gemstones and the uses of minerals as fuel for domestic and commercial purposes. This fascinating and informative collection can only be viewed on weekdays after having given a week's notice. Admission is free  but an advance permission request is required.
