The old name of this Ghat is Kuvai Ghat. This was constructed by Dattatreya Swami, a monastery chief, in 1788. The four important idols atop Narad ghat are Naradeshvara, Atrishvara, Vasukishvara and Dattatreyeshvara.
The legend says that anybody bathing along with spouse in Narad Ghat is NOT advised because of the myth of contention between the couple in future!
