Navar Forest Park is administered by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development's Forest Service,Within the forest area there is a superb 11.2km scenic drive, cliff top viewpoint and a touring caravan site. There are three lakes open to DCAL permit holders - Achork, Glencreawan and Meenameen, Fishing is not permitted in the fourth lake (Lough Navar). Achork and Meenamen contain good stocks of brown tout supplemented by 7500 takeable brown trout. Fish respond well to nymphs and small dark patterned wet of dry flies, Arguably the most attractive DCAL fishery.These lakes are considered ideal for family outings as there is beautiful scenery, picnic areas and forest walks. Car-parks are at the waters edge at Glencreawan and Meenameen.
