Most of the cheap dining in Bangkok is Thai food, but an unusual alternative is the Noor Restaurant, offering Iranian food at a very reasonable cost. Across the road from the Indonesian Embassy and a short walk from Pantip Plaza, it is set back in a small walk from Phetchburi Road. The restaurant is bright, clean and air-conditioned, and the portions of food large. Try the kebabs, tender marinated meat, stews with beans, hummus or gosht dishes. No alcohol is served—soft drinks, or salt lassi only. Call for additional information.
