The Old Mill Holiday Hostel serves as a wonderful base for exploring Westport Town and the surrounding area. The clean and comfortable property has family and dorm rooms with a cosy atmosphere created by the old stone walls and wooden beams. The hostel features a spacious common room for relaxing and making friends, a well-equipped kitchen and free hot showers. The historic building was built about 1780 and was part of a network of warehouse buildings used as a brewery. It later served as a storehouse, animal shelter, slaughterhouse and chicken hatchery. In 1991 it was renovated and converted into a hostel. Westport is located in Northwest Ireland and is popular for walking, horse riding, surfing, sailing, sea angling, fishing and golfing. It is home to the Clew Bay Heritage Centre, a must-see for those interested in local history and genealogy. Croagh Patrick, one of Ireland’s top attractions, is also nearby.
