Origin Espresso is a specialty coffee micro roaster, cafe and wholesaler located in the heart of Port Douglas in Tropical Far North Queensland
What is specialty coffee Our definition of âÂÂspecialty' is anything that cups 80 or above on a âÂÂCup of Excellenceâ scoring sheet. All of our coffees are selected by a blind cupping, in a peer environment. Every lot is comprehensively tasted before purchase.
We are Australia's most northerly specialty boutique coffee roaster. All of our coffees are sourced from single estates, farms and cooperatives. With the guidance from our specialty coffee merchants we source rare, exclusive and sometimes virtually unknown coffee .
Our goal is to have coffee that is unique and speaks for itself, sometimes it's a single orign and sometimes its a blend!
We like to know exactly where our coffee has come from and how it got here. So we have the story behind each and every coffee that we use from farm to cup.
We pay a premium to have the best beans supplied and sourced for us. The prices we pay are substantially higher than the commercial commodity price and the fair trade price for generic or bulk coffee. This ensures that farmers are treated as partners and their beans final destination is only the most discerning coffee lover.
