Padang Indonesia translates to "open field" in Malay. The restaurant is located within a cinema complex in the always bustling Causeway Bay. This fairly large, brightly illuminated eatery's décor tries to recreate the ambiance of a typical Indonesian roadside eatery with rustic-looking furniture and faux-green accents. Padang's menu includes several popular Indonesian eats like Gado-Gado (mixed vegetable salad with peanut sauce), Chicken Satay, Nasi Campur, Beef Rendang, and Mie Goering (Indonesian fried noodles) along with traditional dishes like Soto Babat (beef tripe soup), Kang Kong Balacan (greens sautéed in shrimp paste), Cendol (an icy, coconut milk drink) and Es-teller (a shaved ice and fruit dessert).
