Palais Maillot

Paris

About

It's façade is an equal mix of 2001 Space Odyssey and Paris Convention Center, known as the epicenter of the Paris hip-hop scene and popular after-concert hang for artists like Rihanna, Fabulous and Chris Brown. Arrival is a different experience depending on which side of the velvet rope you are, one a rushed amongst flashbulbs and red carpet and the other a trickling mob wheeling and dealing their way past several military-outfitted doormen. Those privy to a private attendant are led with entourage through a small reception area and into a private VIP lounge outfitted in Cristal and personal rotation of favored hip-hop anthems. For everyone else, a coat check leads into the main room surrounded in a long bar with oversize spotlighting and enormous crystal chandelier at the center of the room. Walls are lined in white fabric and gentile glow of rose-colored light accented by oversize chandeliers and LCD-displays rotating artwork and music videos. The interior club also features a sit-down restaurant and VIP lounge elevated above the main dance floor attended by rotating hip-hop DJs like Felli Fel and the periodic live performance. The crowd varies between French Eminem-wannabes to some of the leading names in French hip-hop looking to roll in Paris style.
