About

Croatian designer Juraj Dalmatinac designed the 15th-century Gothic town house that is the Papalic Palace on Papaliceva Street north of the Peristil. Note the star-and-feather coat of arms over the portal leading to the building's charming courtyard: It represents the Papalic family's symbol. Split's City Museum is on the town house's first floor; it contains a hodgepodge of artifacts from Split's past. Sculptures, documents, medieval weaponry, and coins stamped with Diocletian's image form the crux of the exhibit.
