The Päffgen has been selling good Kölsch since 1883 and for that reason alone you should visit at least once. Moreover, the beer made by Cologne's smallest brewery is only served there and in virtually no other bar. Otherwise everything is pretty much the same as in other Cologne breweries, such as the meat dishes and the typical German brewery atmosphere. Leaving the cuisine aside, the Päffgen is a good choice of venue for sampling Kölsch. And if you find yourself in the old town, you will find the Päffgen there as well, at the Heumarkt.
