About

Located just five minutes walk from the Bridgetown Cruise Terminal, Pelican Village is the center of Barbadian art and craft, and a favorite stop for cruise ship visitors. It is named for Pelican Island, a small island off the original coast of Barbados. Pelican Village boasts a cluster of small shops which entice you to sample a bit of Barbadiana - locally crafted jewelery, batik clothing, locally blended herbal medicines, woodwork, metal craft, glass creations and items woven in straw. The center features an art gallery, with regular exhibitions by local artists. Take your time to explore the treasures within. Two restaurants provide you with choices for lunch, and an internet café allows you to connect with friends back home. -Marsilyn Browne
